The TREND Foundation is delighted to announce that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Dr. Hugues C. Nana Djeunga, successfully defended his Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) on 23 June 2026 at the Centre IRD de Montpellier, under the École Doctorale SciencesChimiques et Biologiques pour la Santé (CBS2), Université de Montpellier, France.

His HDR dissertation, entitled “Approches innovantes pour accélérer l’élimination des maladies tropicales négligées à chimiothérapie préventive,” highlights innovative strategies to accelerate the elimination of neglected tropical diseases targeted through preventive chemotherapy. This work reflects years of impactful scientific contributions and underscores his commitment to advancing research that addresses major global health challenges. This prestigious academic achievement marks a significant milestone in Dr. Nana Djeunga’s scientific career, recognizing the excellence, originality, and impact of his research, as well as his ability to lead independent research programs and supervise doctoral candidates. As CEO of the TREND Foundation, Dr. Nana Djeunga continues to champion scientific excellence, innovation, and capacity building to support the control and elimination of neglected tropical diseases and other global health challenges.
