Dr. Rolin Mitterran Ndefo Kamga is a clinical
biochemist with expertise in molecular parasitology and medical entomology and
is affiliated with the Molecular Parasitology and Entomology Sub-Unit,
Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Dschang,
Cameroon. Since joining the research team led by Prof. Gustave Simo in 2014,
Rolin has contributed to multidisciplinary research aimed at improving the understanding,
surveillance, and control of zoonotic and vector-borne diseases in Cameroon and
the Central African region. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow on the
AfriCam-Prezode project, which focuses on strengthening the anticipation,
surveillance, and prevention of emerging infectious diseases through
integrated, collaborative, and One Health approaches. His research focuses on
the epidemiology, transmission dynamics, and molecular characterization of
priority zoonotic diseases, including human and animal trypanosomiasis,
brucellosis, schistosomiasis, and tick-borne diseases. Through his work, he
seeks to advance knowledge of pathogen ecology and disease transmission while
supporting the development of evidence-based strategies for surveillance and control.
Rolin’s scientific vision is firmly grounded in the One Health approach,
promoting collaboration across the human, animal, and environmental health
sectors to address emerging and neglected zoonotic diseases. He has authored
and co-authored approximately 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications and
remains committed to advancing collaborative research that strengthens public
health and disease preparedness in Africa.
