Zoonotic and infectious diseases, environmental health, sustainable energy, and One Health
About the research hub
Located within Cameroon’s forested regions (East & South), this hub focuses on research related to zoonotic diseases, infectious diseases, biodiversity-health interactions, and global health challenges. Given the ecological richness and close interaction between human populations, wildlife, and forest ecosystems, the hub plays a critical role in advancing research on emerging and re-emerging diseases. The hub promotes surveillance, prevention, diagnostics, public health preparedness, and community-based interventions aimed at strengthening health systems and reducing the impact of infectious diseases. It also supports One Health approaches that integrate human, animal, and environmental health perspectives.
